Public Private Partnership and Ailing State Owned Enterprises

In a meeting of businessmen at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI), Shaukat Tarin mentioned that government should consider developing public-private partnership in loss making SOEs to turn them into profit earning organizations. He was referring to SOEs like Pakistan Railways, Pakistan International Airlines, Pakistan Steel Mills and Pepco, which are costing the national exchequer 250 billion rupees every year.
