Govt. of Pakistan is planning to upgrade Karachi-Hyderabad Super Highway (M-9) into a motorway through PPP, under Build-Operate-Own (BOO) mode. Currently the 138 KM long Super Highway is serving a traffic volume of over 21,000 vehicles per day with over 60% of heavy traffic. Proposals have been submitted by two firms, one each from Malaysia and Pakistan, and the agreement with the qualifying firm is supposed to be signed by the end of this year.
